Pleased to reveal we have had our project selected as part of the MRC Discovery Medicine North doctoral training programme for entry in Oct 2018. It is join with Prof. Ong in the Medical School here at the University of Sheffield. The project is entitled, "DiMeN Doctoral Training Partnership: The role of apoptotic cell clearance in the pathogenesis and treatment of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease." The application deadline is 22nd Jan 2018, please get in touch with Prof. Ong or myself ([email protected]) for more details or a chat about what it is like to work here in the Bateson Centre and IICD at the University of Sheffield. The project cuts across evolution with human cells and flies being used to investigate the role(s) of PKD2/amo in apoptotic cell clearance in the context of autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease. The project itself is very much made for molecular/developmental cell biologists or anyone with an interest in fundamental basic biological processes and how defects in these can lead to human disease.
